Second Festival of Seven Cultures We would like to draw your interest to the Second Festival of Seven Cultures organised by our group Piwnica Św. Norberta in London in November 2009. We are a group of artists from Krakow who have been entertaining the public with concerts of poetry and music every Tuesday since 1992. Each concert of Piwnica Św. Norberta (The Cellar of Saint Norbert) is a unique show combining different styles of music from classical through jazz to meditative. The idea of the Festival of Seven Cultures originated in London in 2008 during Piwnica’s concerts arranged under the auspices of the Polish Consulate. The three concerts with the joint title “The Symphony of Seven Cultures” attracted an audience of 1200 people. The interest and enthusiasm that the event generated made us believe that looking for common roots in music, poetry and song is an important element towards the integration of European cultures. The Festival organisers include the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in London, the Polish General Consulate in London, the Brentwood Diocese and the Malopolska Region in Poland. The project has received the honorary patronage of the Malopolska Region and is supported by the British Polish Chamber of Commerce. The Festival of Seven Cultures is designed as a series of large concerts, aiming at an audience of 2000 people, devoted to cultures of ethnic minorities in Europe. The project should appeal to a broad audience in countries of united Europe where the issue of diverse heritage and common European identity has become significant. ![]() english version of the webside soon.... |
